What Is The Difference Between The Home Office Desk And Business Office Desk?

The main differences between the two models are the height and stability. Our Business edition can support up to 310 lbs while the Home edition is 265 lbs. 

The business model has a larger height range where the lows and highs are greater: 27.6-45.2 inches versus 23.62-49.21 inches. The business model also has reinforced matte gloss painted square columns versus rectangular raw steel metal columns and wider tapered feet.

Both models are made the exact way but the business model will provide a faster/quieter experience and hold more weight capacity 🙂

Can I get my own table top?

Yes! Just make sure you follow the guidelines below:

Minimum size required:

40" W x 23" D (100 cm x 57.5 cm)

Maximum size dimensions:

Recommended size is no larger than 80” W x 39” D

You are able to use any desktop you prefer as long as the table is drillable. Please keep the desktop size between 44" to 80” in width and 27-36” in depth for maximum stability. Keep overhang between 2-5 inches. 

How Long Does It Take To Assemble The Business Office Desk?

Moderate assembly is required for the desk and we provide assembly instructions with each desk frame. We recommend assembling the desk with a friend. The assembly process usually takes around 30-45 minutes from start to finish.

Is There A Way To Reset My Office Desk?

To reset, unplug and plug the desk for 15 minutes. Then press the Down button and hold for 10-15 seconds until the table stutters and beeps.

How long is the cord /plug wire? In other words, how far can this desk be from an outlet?

The total length of the cord from the main control box to the end of the plug is 99 inches.

How Do I Configure The Presets On My Office Desk?

1. Adjust the table to the desired height, then press M. “S-“ will flash on the display.

2. Press a number to set the desired height as a preset.

What Voltage Does The Office Desk Use?

The Business Office Desk uses volt range between 110-230v.

Can I lock my desk height?

Yes! To lock in place press the Up and Down buttons at the same time for 5 seconds. The word "LOC" should appear on the display. This indicates your desk is now locked and all buttons are deactivated. To unlock, simply press the Up and Down buttons at the same time again to reactivate the keys and use as before.

Can you tell me more about warranty?

EFFYDESK has an all-inclusive 10 year warranty on all frame components, including the electric motors, control box and switch.

I am in love with my new riser desk from EffyDesk! The quality is superb, and I couldn't be happier. I have additional monitors on order to utilize the space fully and enhance my multitasking capabilities.

The installation was very straightforward, but I recommend assembling it with someone else. I would also like to note that the components provided for building the desk are of great quality too (e.g., screws, Allen keys, cable zip ties, etc.).

I've assembled furniture from other companies before and often found that they cheap out on parts, leading to issues like stripped screws. However, with this desk, even the pre-drilled screw holes were precise! I didn't have to pre-drill anything.

The hydraulics for raising or lowering the desk are incredibly smooth. It's convenient to have the ability to save up to four different control settings, which is more than sufficient.

I bought this desk as a recommendation by an occupational therapist who assessed my work station after I suffered back injury.

The purchase experience was good. The whole desk came in 2 separate boxes, which I got on 2 separate days because one of them was returned to the warehouse, for some reason we couldn’t figure out, so their service team contacted me before I even realized I was missing a box and just sent a new one at no extra cost. Great pro-active service.

The assembly is relatively easy. It took me a total of about 2hrs. I did it alone, and I’m a small woman. I only needed help from my hubby to put the tabletop on top of the legs. I worked like a mechanic from under the desk instead of working from the top and having to turn it up at the end. The fact that the legs are set at the lowest height for packaging efficiency made it possible and comfortable to do so. I just laid on my back and worked it out.

If you want to avoid a little cursing while you’re building the desk, I have a couple tips to share. First, in the booklet, it doesn’t mention that the 2 hangers (step 6) should be installed at the same distance from each other as the distance between the screwholes on the cover we put over all the wiring later on. There are a few spacing options but you’ll have to loosen the screws you used to attach the able to the legs, if you don’t plan ahead. Second thing is to have a drill ready with a 1/8” drill bit to pre-drill the holes for the command pad at the end. I had to take a break to charge mine. Other than that, building the desk was pretty easy.

The desk it very solid, the motor is very quiet when you adjust the height and the task goes smoothly and fairly quick. Setting your favourite heights is very easy. There are no wires hanging anywhere, which makes my inner clean freak very pleased.

I’m very happy with my purchase so far. Can’t wait to use it. I work from home, so I am glad that the warranty is at least 10 years. It gives me confidence that I will use it for a long time without too much trouble.

Very table study, and the motor is very smooth and quiet.

I am confident that the standing desk can last many years, and I am so glad I made the right investment by purchasing the Effy Desk.

Compared to my other standing desk, which is Ikea's Bekant, the tabletop is much thicker and more stable, especially when the motor is in motion.

Overall, I am pleased with the Business Stand Desk, and I recommend people purchase the business version over the home office version since the range of motion is more significant and has a more robust frame.

The desk is assembled and so far so good. I underestimated the size of the boxes (and how heavy the parts would be) - you absolutely should have 2 people to put it together.

Assembly was fairly easy - I used the YouTube video I found plus the written instructions.

So far it's really stable and quiet. I have pre-set my optimal sit and stand heights and it works really well.
